Teaching Artists

CO/LAB Theater Group routinely hires new Teaching Artists to develop and facilitate theater workshops for individuals with developmental disabilities. As part of our program, you will have access to a diverse array of opportunities, including multiple residencies, workshops, substitute teaching positions, social events, and professional development and training sessions. We currently do not have any openings, but please check back soon for more information or email hello@colabtheatergroup.com and ask to be added to our mailing list.

Become a Supporting Artist

Volunteers in CO/LAB classes are called Supporting Artists (or SAs) and they support theater workshops for individuals with developmental disabilities. CO/LAB Theater Group typically accepts applications for our Supporting Artists program twice per year (in the winter and summer). A great Supporting Artist is reliable, takes initiative in the CO/LAB classroom, participates in class fully, and approaches participants in a positive manner.

At CO/LAB, we aim to build a diverse group of Supporting Artists with a wide range of backgrounds and expertise. The program has different commitment levels so that you can participate as your schedule allows. Supporting Artists also receive invitations to community events and free professional development sessions throughout the season.

To learn more about being a Supporting Artist, you can read our FAQs. A big thank you to our growing list of past and present volunteers—we couldn’t do it without you.

We typically open the application for new SAs twice per year. If you want to be added to the list to get updates about when this happens, email sa@colabtheatergroup.com.
